Spiritual Youth for Reproductive Freedom SYRF), a program of the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice (www.rcrc.org).
The Summit will:
•Explore the theologies of reproductive choice
•Help you articulate your faith values for choice
•Give you the tools to counter the Religious Right on your campus, and
•Help you put your faith into action for choice!
Workshop Highlights: Denominational breakout sessions on the
connections between spirituality and sexuality; pro-faith, pro-choice communication 101; building effective coalitions; how to challenge the Religious Right on campus; organizing a pro-faith pro-choice presence on campus; exploring the history of the movement and finding our place in it; Advocacy 101; and more.
Worship: We will start each day with student-led, interfaith worship.
Lobby Day: After a briefing on how to become an effective lobbyist by
Capitol Hill staff, we will visit Members of Congress to advocate for profaith, pro-choice policies.
Social Activities: This will definitely not be an all work and no play conference! We are organizing fun activities for each evening of the summit, including some Washington, DC sightseeing.
