NOTE
SDS is NOT a recognized group at Drew. the convention was pitched to admins by another group as an “Environmental Organizing Conference.”

coinciding with our convention is an annual daylong event called “sloppy saturday.” it’s probably in everyone’s best interest if we keep these two events as separate as possible. because of sloppy saturday, the administration is on edge and making us pay public safety overtime to police our convention. SDS is very visible, oft-profiled, and personally familiar with most of the officers. We want to keep our guests safe adn prevent your being harassed. be mindful of any “incriminating” substances and materials you bring or keep on your person. (We like our trouble to be carefully chosen and premeditated)

we are all working very hard to expand and maintain the support of the general student body. the future of Drew SDS will be greatly dependent on the model we exhibit with this event. this is a fantastic opportunity to show Drew a twinkling example of democracy and student power, and we thank you for helping us strengthen our community.
