Application Forms and Upcoming Deadlines:
Travel Stipends for Legal Activists of Color: The United People of Color Caucus (TUPOCC) and the National Executive Committee of the NLG will again be offering travel stipends for law students of color, recent graduates of color, and legal workers of color to attend the annual NLG Law for the People Convention in Philadelphia. This year’s application is available online at http://bit.ly/aXpWiS. The deadline for submitting applications is 8 PM EST on Friday, September 16, 2011. Applicants will receive a decision by September 19, 2011. Eligibility is limited to legal workers, law students, and recent law graduates who self-identify as people of color. Women, LGBTQIA comrades, and persons with disabilities are particularly encouraged to apply. Applicants should be sure to read the instructions on the application completely. Documentation of transportation costs is required.
Volunteering: If you are willing to volunteer for a three-hour shift at the registration table during the convention, you may be eligible for free registration. If you want to be a volunteer and help out the tireless NO staff, download the volunteer form and return it to Hiedi Simon ASAP. The number of volunteers we can take is limited, and volunteer forms will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that the discount will only be granted if you show up and check in for your shift.
Listing Your Meeting the Agenda: If you are hosting ANY event at the convention (meeting, workshop, panel, or other social event), you must fill out this form in order to have it included in the official Annotated Agenda. All workshop and panel organizers are required to fill out this form. Be sure to return the form as soon as possible but NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 1 to Hiedi Simon in order to have your event listed in the official agenda.
