Canada Federal Election 2011
Canada has a federal election scheduled for May 2, 2011.
I'm not sure what the opposition was thinking, but they decided to vote down the government even though the government has been doing well in the polls - so well that they might turn their minority into a majority. Last time they voted it down, the government was returned with a larger minority.

Early Results
Canada has a publication ban on early results which has become more effective over time. Currently shortwave radio stations will not provide any coverage (unlike 2004 when I was able to listen to shortwave coverage), as will online radio stations and any other Canadian website.
Local AM and FM stations will provide coverage, but their range is limited. It is especially hard to get results from the first time zone: Newfoundland (due to a lack of population and distance).
Canada has 6 time zones.
I'm hoping that someone will have results on twitter. Unless the government is willing to arrest a lot of people for tweeting or does a good job of intimidating them I don't see how it can be stopped. And you could always have Canadians living abroad who could call their friends in Newfoundland to get results and then tweet them.
